Dave first joined Intense in the Autumn of 1995, playing his first gig with the band in December of that year. He went on to record a few demos with Intense during the late nineties, as well as the Dark Season Ep. He also played numerous gigs during this period. After the band went through major line-up changes, around the turn of the millenium, Dave returned from a hiatus in 2002

Live rig is usually a Gibson Les Paul Standard, Les Paul Custom or Dean Soltero into a Mesa Dual rectifier Head and Mesa Rectifier cabs with celestion vintage 30 speakers. Effects pedals include Vox wah, MXR phase 90, Ibanez ts808 tubescreamer, Boss dd3 delay, Boss ns2 and Boss tuner. Sometimes also a Boss chorus (depends on what songs are in the set). This is all hooked up with Planet Waves cables and a Trantec wireless system. The strings I use are regular slinky Ernie Ball and picks Dunlop tortex 0.88mm.

Additionally in the studio I have made use of my Roland JC 120 combo, Orange Tiny Terror head, Marshall dsl 100 watt head, Fender Stratocaster, Martin 00028ec Eric Clapton acoustic, Line 6 delay, MXR flanger, Carl Martin trem o'vibe for different textures, clean parts, acoustic parts and some solos.The Martin acoustic was acquired after the Second Sight sessions so the acoustic tones on that recording were on an Alvarez acoustic that was at the recording studio.
