Marco Trigo, Rock Heavy Loud    8/10
...a very well achieved mix of US influenced Power Metal, with a bit of Maiden in the melodies and a lot of progressive structures...I highly recommend this one in the hope their army will indeed grow. They certainly deserve so with this fine album.

Al Hay, Hardrockhouse.com    8/10
...the band has to be congratulated on nailing their own sound and putting in a head turning performance. Each listen has revealed more... a great release from a band who, on this display, have massive potential...

The Streets metal webzine    9/10
... this is quite a varied album with power metal riffs, melodies and progressive twists walking hand in hand. Singer Sean Hetherington does an excellent job and the album also offers lots of great guitar work... The song material is very strong and the production is irreproachable...

Alexander Melzer, Metal Observer    7/10
... In terms of production and execution there is absolutely no room for criticism... It is good to hear that Great Britain continues to produce traditional quality Metal...

Jason Ritchie, Get Ready To Rock    4.5/5
... highlighting all that is great about this band – powerhouse drums, driving rhythm guitar, well crafted guitar solos and powerful vocals... this new album will not only win them new fans I am sure but puts more established bands into the shade.

Kadatheron, Metal Frontiers    17/20
You'll get to hear 10 fine compositions, filled with great riffs and solos... My advice to all you metalheads is to get the album. It will definitely be one of the best Power Metal releases of 2007 and you're really gonna enjoy it.

Patrick de Sloover, Metal To Infinity    87/100
Combine this throat with a hammering rhythm and triplet guitars and you know that this band deserves to be taken serious. Intense is like the name describes: lurid, showy and garish and the music will bang your head!

Endamon, Metalstorm    92/100
Mit As Our Army Grows ist Intense schon mit dem zweiten Album ein großer Wurf gelungen. Bleibt abzuwarten was diese Band noch erreichen kann. Ich befürchte eigentlich nur Gutes!!!

'The Wendigo', Whiskey-Soda.de

... every track here is deserving of its inclusion: there are no fillers. This is not just one of the most professional sounding trad metal releases of late, but the perfect anti-thesis to the world of nu-metal core proliferation.

Spyros Papadakis, Metal Invader    4.5/6
Powerful songs, gripping riffs and rhythms, immense vocals... one of the strongest examples of how a modern Power Metal band should sound. Tight, punchy, dynamic and exciting, INTENSE have certainly raised the bar of excellence and musicianship...

Cameron Terry, DemonsZone    9/10
The jump from Second Sight to As Our Army Grows is about as significant as Metallica going from Kill Em All to Ride the Lightning. The skill level and song-writing has improved massively, and Intense have found their own sound

Iris Wilke, Arising Realm    4/5
Man denke da nur an Iron Maiden oder Judas Priest, um nur zwei zu nennen. Intense schlägt auch in diese Kerbe und versucht traditionelle Elemente im modernen Gewand schmackhaft zu machen.

John Tucker, Fireworks Magazine
Signing recently to Napalm though means that the band's profile could now really be on the rise, and 'As Our Army Grows' is just the CD to back it up. Cometh the hour, cometh the album: 'As Our Army Grows' is a sweeping and ambitious - and distinctly British - power metal album...
