Well, with another year ticking over on the calendar, it's time for a quick review of 2007 and a taster of
our plans for 2008.
2007 - Mostly Highs, With A Few Knocks
In a number of ways, 2007 was a milestone year for Intense. We kicked off proceedings with the signing
of a world-wide album deal with Napalm Records, which was obviously a massive step for the band and one
that we were all (and continue to be) very enthusiastic about.
Hot on the heels of this was the filming of our first full-feature promo video, for the track 'Fear Is Not Enough'. This was shot in
London over 2 weekends and expertly produced by the guys from Visual Abuse. If you haven't already seen
this, check it out on our YouTube Channel.
(Speaking of which, more on that in a moment.)
On the gig front we played a number of excellent shows, including the Headbangers Open Air festival in
Germany and the Summer Fest at the Biebob in Belgium; however, a lot of our time was earmarked for a
potentially major support tour which in the will-it-won't-it way of these things eventually fell through
due to one of the headliners withdrawing. Unfortunately that left our calendar looking a bit sparse on the
live front - which is something we're definitely looking to remedy in 2008.
2008 - Looking Ahead
With the drive to get out and play more firmly in our minds, we're currently confirmed for dates in
Eindhoven (March) and headlining a bash in Hull in April - check the gig listing for full details. There
should be more to follow these very soon, particularly including more UK dates as we were virtual strangers
to our own shores last year! (Not that we don't love going over and tearing it up with our brothers and
sisters on the mainland too, of course!)
On the YouTube front mentioned previously - we've recorded a number of 'behind the scenes' looks at
life in the Intense fold, and will be continuing to do so over the coming months. These - along with
hopefully some 'archive' footage of some of the best gigs from previous tours (if we can blow the dust
off them!) will be making their way onto our YouTube channel in due course. Hopefully these will entertain
and amuse (they did when we were making them!) so keep an eye out for updates.
Finally (and without wanting to sound like a stuck record!) - we *will* get the online shop sorted out soon,
so those of you who've asked us about getting hold of merch and stuff from the web shouldn't have to wait too
much longer! In the meantime you can always send us a message / badger us on the forums if there's anything you're
after and we'll be happy to sort out anything we can.
